As an HR intern at the YMCA of Greater Long Beach, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the organization’s unwavering commitment to both its employees and the community it serves. From its dedication to fostering a supportive work environment to its tireless efforts in promoting wellness and enrichment programs for all ages, the YMCA stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity in our vibrant city. At the heart of the YMCA’s mission lies a deep-seated belief in the power of community.

Through its diverse range of programs and services, the YMCA brings people together from all walks of life, creating a sense of belonging far beyond its walls. Whether it’s providing childcare for working families, offering fitness classes for seniors, or organizing youth leadership programs, the YMCA of Greater Long Beach is dedicated to meeting the needs of its community with compassion and care.

As an HR intern, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about making a difference. From recruiting and onboarding new employees to implementing professional development initiatives and fostering a culture of inclusivity, the HR department plays a vital role in supporting the YMCA’s mission and values. Through mentorship, training opportunities, and ongoing support, the YMCA invests in its employees, empowering them to grow both personally and professionally. One of the things that sets the YMCA of Greater Long Beach apart is its commitment to promoting health and wellness among its staff. From employee wellness programs and gym memberships to mental health resources and stress management workshops, the YMCA recognizes the importance of taking care of its employees’ well-being.
