Music is one of those universal languages found in art – emotion and creativity transcending time and place to speak to us and guide us through life.
For some – like myself – music has become a staple within our personal lives. Music becomes a way in which we relate to the world around us – giving us the chance to see our experiences and stories echoed in the songs we listen to from the artists we love.
On CityHeART radio I try to reflect that passion for music in the playlists I share – mostly out of a hope that something will resonate with the audience the way it resonates with me. With so many different artists out there to explore and work through, I like to sample from a wide variety of genres. However, one genre I always come back to is indie – a genre so wide that you can barely see the boundaries of its definition no matter which artist’s perspective you look from. I find indie to be one of the most accessible genres out there to share with people – a prefix you can add on to almost every other genre and get an entirely new and interesting sound to immerse yourself in.
If you’re looking for some interesting indie artists to check out for yourself – I’ve got four recommendations here for you all to check out.
