Our longstanding community partner, the Long Beach East Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has been a pillar of support for years for our HeARTy Foods Food Bank, ensuring that non-perishable food items are available for the Veterans, seniors, and families who visit our Resource Hub all year long.
Now, they are extending their commitment to community well-being once again by hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive, and we invite you to join this life-saving initiative.
Why Your Blood Donation Matters
According to the Red Cross website, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. requires blood. Donated blood is essential for surgeries, cancer treatments, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. A single donation can save up to three lives, underscoring the profound impact you can have on patients in need.
Eligibility Requirements
To ensure a safe and successful donation, please review the following criteria:
- Age: Donors must be at least 17 years old in most states (16 years old with parental consent where allowed).
- Weight: A minimum weight of 110 lbs is required.
- Health: Donors should be in good general health and feeling well on the day of donation.
