Meet Serenity!

My name is Serenity Dumler-Beecher. I am currently working towards getting my Bachelor’s in psychology as I finish up my last year at California State University Long Beach. I have always been passionate about helping others and giving back to my community. Last year, I volunteered at a local food pantry for nearly a year and loved getting to help and interact with everyone that came in. So I was excited when I was accepted to intern at CityHeART, where I can meet new people, help our community, and have new experiences. I am a feminist with Hispanic and European heritage who strongly advocates for mental health awareness. I love to read, write, listen to music, and spend time with those around me. I have always had a deep appreciation for storytellers that can portray stories through various outlets such as art, poetry, photography, and so on. Thus, I admire CityHeART’s ability to tell stories that leave an impact on their community and provide services that help improve their community as well.
